Positive Affirmation – Self Reflection Exercise
My children are very valuable to me. Children are the future of the world, and it indeed is my responsibility to teach my children valuable lessons for tomorrow and prepare them for the future.
As a responsible parent I take my parenting job very seriously. There are always friends and other resourceful people around but ultimately it is me who has got a big hand in raising good and responsible citizens.
I go about my parenting job very seriously, when the new week starts I have with me clear plans on what and how to teach my children that week. The lessons which will impart social skills and the lessons which will provide academic knowledge are all clearly written down. Activity schedules for the family is in place that promotes valuable learning.
I realize that I am a role model for my children and my children watches me and absorb like a sponge what they see and what I teach them. I carry myself and present to my children the role which I want them to model from.
I am teaching and letting my children experience grace by being understanding and forgiving to their flaws. I teach them the value of not committing the same mistakes again. I ensure that they always feel my unconditional love for them.
Occasionally I take my children out to perform charity work with me so that they understand the value of giving. From happily donating items to people in need to humbly picking up litter, my children learns from all these activities that the world belongs to us and it is up to us to take good care of it and the people in it.
The lessons which I am teaching my children today and what they are learning from their experiences with me will help them throughout their adult life. Because of the good habits they pick up they are comfortable in expressing their opinions by being themselves.
Today, I choose to do everything in my power to ensure my children transforms into well balanced individuals. I lead by setting examples to follow and create opportunities for learning.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- What are my children learning from the examples set by me?
- What can I do to cultivate good habits in my children more and more?
- How can I continuously plan ahead for fruitful, valuable and enjoyable family activities?
